General Commercial Vehicle Eligibility Criteria

THE PROPOSER...

  • is either (1) the legal and registered owner of the vehicle and or (2) the main user of the vehicle.
  • must be either (1) a resident in, or (2) a registered Company, in the Republic of Ireland.

ANY PERSON WHO WILL DRIVE THE VEHICLE...

  • has not been refused the renewal of an insurance policy by any insurer within the past 7 years.
  • has not had a policy of insurance cancelled by any insurer in the last 7 years, (for some insurers this will include cancellations for direct debit default or non-payment of a premium).
  • has not had an increased excess or reduced level of policy cover imposed by an insurer on a motor policy within the past 7 years (excluding terms imposed for convictions, claims or penalty points).
  • does not have any medical condition that impairs their ability to drive, (as outlined by the Road Safety Authority in their 'Medical Fitness to Drive Guidelines'), that has not been advised to the Licencing Authority.

THE VEHICLE...

  • will only be used for social, domestic and pleasure purposes and/or solely for the carriage of own goods relating to the proposers business.
  • does not have any mechanical plant or auxiliary equipment such as grabs, stabilisers or cherry pickers.
  • if required by legislation, has been issued with a Certificate of Roadworthiness.
  • does not have access to/visit any hazardous locations or airport, and/or carrying any explosive or hazardous goods.
  • In the absence of a correct and/or valid registration number, the quote is not guaranteed and risk acceptance may change.
